Lady Shaka is hands down one of my favourite DJs, with genre bending refixes and a fresh take on urban contemporary dance music – you can feel the soul and riddims in every mix. This is no different.
Known for her work as the official DJ for music sensation IAMDDB and is a resident DJ for Nite Dykez, Faggamuffin and Juicebox Events . She is also known for her work as the director and curator of Pulotu Underworld; London’s only Pacific Island club night celebrating Pacific artistry, community and sound.
She has performed at venues and festivals across the UK, Europe, Asia and Australasia such as Beat Festival and UK Black Pride and has engaged with communities online across the US/Canada, the Caribbean, Africa and South America through festivals, radio stations and music collectives such as Wireless Fest, Soho Radio and 8th Pathway. Lady Shaka will return to New Zealand later this month to work on a creative project Oro: Ancestral Sounds of the Pacific which focuses on development of Pacific sound to create and bring Pacific sanctuary to the masses.
I’m incredibly proud and privileged to be working with her on her upcoming project!
